DC Infrastructure Academy DCIA:

The Pepco Utility Training Program prepares aspiring DC professionals for fulfilling careers in the energy and utility fields.

Specialized training focuses on safety, math, and mechanical skills, as well as work readiness, electrical theory, line work, physical fitness, and other occupation-specific skills. Participants graduate with industry certifications including OSHA-10, Flagger, and CPR/First Aid in addition to receiving hands-on training experience in the Utility Training Yard.

Participants enrolled in the 14-week program will receive a stipend throughout the program and have the opportunity to receive a job offer within the energy field upon completion.

    • The goal of the DC Infrastructure Academy (DCIA) is to bring multiple infrastructure-related workforce development activities together under one roof to provide DC residents with high-quality, specifically designed trainings and programs that lead to careers in the District’s Infrastructure Industry sectors.

    • • Electro Mechanical Preparatory Course (EMP)
    • There will be one virtual information session beginning promptly at 10am every Tuesday and Thursday. Log-in details can be found in your Eventbrite confirmation email.
    • The Webex link to join the information session can be found in your confirmation email under additional information.
  • Must have a valid DC ID & Social Security Card
  • Some programs require CASAS unless you hold an Associate’s or higher

Do you have questions about the application and enrollment process?

  1. Sign up for the DCIA virtual information session via the DCIA Eventbrite page by clicking here.
  2. Once you complete the information session, a DCIA application for enrollment will be emailed to you.
  3. Once you have completed the DCIA application, please send it via email to DCIA@DC.gov, and a DCIA team member will reach out to you about the next steps.
