Summer Career Development Expo

Veterans Upward Bound of DC, in collaboration with esteemed partners including the DC Department of Employment Services, Tech for Troops, and DC VetCenter, proudly presents a comprehensive Summer Career Development Expo. This event aims to empower veterans with the resources, knowledge, and support necessary to excel in their career transitions.

Key Highlights:
Career Counseling: Dedicated counselors from the Catholic University of America Center for Academic and Career Success and the DC Department of Employment Services will offer personalized career counseling sessions, addressing individual career goals, skills assessment, and guidance on accessing veteran-specific resources.
Free Headshots: Veterans Upward Bound will have a professional photographer on sight to provide headshots for all registered veterans. Each veteran will get a digital copy of their headshot to use on applications, LinkedIn profiles, etc.
Tech for Troops: Attendees will have the opportunity to explore technology resources and receive training on essential digital skills. Tech for Troops will provide guidance on utilizing technology to enhance job search efforts and advance professional development as well as the opportunity for eligible veterans to receive tech equipment scholarships.
VA Claims Assistance: VSOs will assist veterans in filing claims with the VA, applying for Vets Ride, applying for the Disabled Veterans Homestead deduction, etc.

This workshop is designed for veterans at all stages of their career journey, including those exploring career options, actively seeking employment, or looking to advance in their current careers.
