“Honoring the Legacy: Veterans in Nature”, is an initiative connecting DC veterans with nature-based experiences that promote healing, wellbeing, community, and environmental stewardship. Inspired by Civil War veteran Walter B. Shaw, founder of Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens, the program honors his legacy by helping today’s veterans find restoration and purpose in nature.

Join Lottena for this workshop in the gardens designed specifically to foster well-being for our local veterans. Participants in the workshop will explore simple exercises to find greater ease during times of stress, all while connecting with others in a beautiful park setting.

Lottena Wolters is the Founder and CEO of The F.L. Wolters Group, where she leads strategic growth, clinical supervision, and organizational development. Guided by a “collaboration over competition” philosophy, she partners with clinicians and wellness professionals to deliver workshops rooted in the eight dimensions of wellness through The FLWG Way, the practice’s new integrative care model. Having had the pleasure of working with many veterans throughout her career, Lottena would welcome the opportunity to bring her experience and collaborative approach to serving and supporting the veteran community. Piloted in 2021, “WELLderness: An Outdoor Wellness Series” was developed to bring members of the community together (in person and online) to engage in activities that would have a positive impact on their physical and mental health and well-being. Throughout the year, people have the opportunity to participate in FREE events that center around fostering better connections to self and the environment.
